Official Community Standards

Crescent Valley Rules

These rules govern community conduct in roleplay, combat, criminal activity, businesses, factions, and storylines within Crescent Valley.

Rules are subject to change at any time, and it is the responsibility of the player to stay up to date with the rules. A notice will be provided via the Crescent Valley Discord.

Rules that are marked with a red tab are considered severe and may result in immediate bans or permanent removal from the server.

Rules Last Updated: July 19, 2026

The Golden Rules & Code of Conduct

This section outlines the OOC standards and “Golden Rules” of Crescent Valley. All community members are expected and held to this standard of behavior regardless of standing, donation status, and/or time committed to the server.

Remain Respectful Toward Fellow Players

Crescent Valley does not and will not tolerate the flaming, harassment, antagonizing, and bad-mouthing of other players. Respect your fellow player as a person and human being. If you have an issue with another player, you are expected to open up a report ticket and speak to the server staff in order to allow them to address the problem on your behalf.

In addition, this server will not tolerate hate towards other servers. Do not slander, antagonize, bad-mouth, or speak ill of other servers, their management, and/or communities within the Crescent Valley Discord or any server affiliated with Crescent Valley (including private, regional business, and/or ranching servers).

All Players of Crescent Valley are Required to be Over the age of 18

The Crescent Valley Discord, In-Game Server, & Any Affiliate Discord (such as business or ranch discords tied to this server) do not permit the presence of underage (minors) within its spaces. If you are found to be under the age of 18, you will be removed from the community and may appeal the ban when you turn 18.

Respect Staff, Developers, and Event Volunteers

Staff members are unpaid volunteers who have helped build this server and shared their time to help the community. While some scenarios may yield stress, hard feelings, and general frustrations, it is important to remember that the admin team is not your personal punching bag nor are they your enemy.

In addition, do not DM a Staff Member unless you have been given consent to do so. If you require a staff member’s attention for a server related matter, you can make a ticket just as quickly as you can type a DM.

Hateful or Bigoted Behavior Is Prohibited

This includes but is not limited to Racism, Sexism, Homophobia, Transphobia, Ableism, & other discriminatory behavior. Crescent Valley does not tolerate this behavior on an OOC or IC level.

If you decide to involve yourself in this behaviour... You secured a permanent ban!

No Real-World Political or Religious Debates in Discord

While the world is a chaotic and difficult place, many come to online communities in order to distract themselves from the noise of today. Allow your fellow community that privilege and keep such conversations contained to private DMs where parties may consent to such conversation at their leisure.

Religious & Political Roleplay, however, is still permitted within the server. Please refer to Rule 1 of this section for expectations relating to that.

Use Discord Channels as Intended

The Crescent Valley Discord has a myriad of channels available for use by its community. These channels come with the expectation that they are used as intended. For example, AI images should be contained to the AI channel, they are NOT permitted in the art or screenshot channels.

Do Not Advertise or Poach for Other Servers

Crescent Valley respects its fellow servers and the dedication it takes to run them; however, we are not a platform of free advertisement for those other communities. They may advertise elsewhere.

If we find you are poaching from our server on behalf or to benefit other RedM communities, you will simply be removed for violating this rule.

A Functional Microphone Is Required

All players participating in Crescent Valley are required to have a functioning microphone which sounds clear. Players can play mute characters and we have items in-game to support such but even if you play a mute character, you are still required to have a functional microphone in the event that server staff need to speak to you within Discord.

Recording Is Required for Criminal or Violent Roleplay

All players participating in criminal, violent, or otherwise aggressive roleplay are required to be recording the encounter in full. This recording includes your mic’s audio, the audio of your game, the in-game voice chat, and should be completely unedited.

If you’re in a group, at least one or two members are required to be recording out of your entire squad. All members must remain in eyesight and/or earshot of the individuals recording.

Intoxication Does Not Excuse Misconduct

If you are under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or other mind-altering substances on an OOC level, you are still at fault for any rulebreaks or misconduct committed whilst under the influence of those substances. Regardless of reason, you will still be held accountable for your disruptive behavior.

This additionally applies to in-character actions. You cannot use the excuse of “OOC: I was drunk last night” to justify your character’s poor decisions or with the intention to expect leniency in-character for your choices.

Being drunk or high in real life is not an excuse to act like an asshole within Crescent Valley’s Discord or in-game server.

Excessive Continuous Play May Result in a Mandatory Break

While Crescent Valley is happy that people enjoy our server enough to want to play on it constantly, we also value the importance of healthy sleep schedules and taking care of oneself.

If we find that you have been spending 24 - 48 hours on the server without sleep, breaks, or time away from your computer screen, we will temporarily ban you from logging in for 24 hours so you CAN sleep, eat, decompress from being IC, and so you can take care of yourself.

It has been proven that lack of sleep and breaks leads to increased cases of OOC/IC bleedover and accidental rulebreaks. We care for our players and their mental health, as such we have a right to make you touch grass if we ever feel you need it.

Do Not Exploit Loopholes in the Rules

Nobody likes a rules lawyer and everyone hates the people who like to find loopholes to test what they can get away with. If you are found to be doing this or admitting to this behavior, you will receive consequences for it.

If you see or feel like you have found a loophole in our rules, report it to the staff team immediately so it may be corrected.

Roleplay & In-Character Rules

This section directly pertains to all expectations of behavior within the roleplay of Crescent Valley. When it comes to engaging with the in-character portion of the server, these rules cover exactly that.

Players Are Entitled to Their Own Stories

Whilst roleplaying within Crescent Valley, players are welcome and permitted to bring in their characters from other/previously played on servers. However, they are expected to have their characters fit within Crescent Valley’s lore should they be submitted in a supernatural character application.

In addition, it is each player’s individual choice to continue or carry over stories OR if they do not wish to carry over specific lore, stories, or memories from another server, they retain that right of consent.

If a player does not consent to continuing a specific storyline from a different server, that is the end of discussion. It should not be pushed and should be respected.

Remain In Character

Whilst roleplaying within Crescent Valley, all players are expected to remain “IC” or “In-Character” whilst logged into the server. During this time, you are acting as your character and all dialogue, actions, choices, and behavior should reflect that of your character. You are not acting as yourself.

Being “OOC” or “Out of Character” refers to all responses, actions, words, and choices being that of yourself, the player, rather than roleplaying out the character you’re logged into. Any instances of OOC communication is NOT permitted within the in-game voice chat.

If you need to go OOC due to an emergency, use local chat to state you need to go afk and leave it at that.

What Happens in Roleplay Stays in Roleplay

Do not bring in-character arguments, issues, or other problems into OOC settings. You are not your character and he/she/they are not you. Maintain a healthy separation between what is OOC and what is IC.

ERP and Explicit Roleplay Are Prohibited

As stated by CFX and Rockstar’s Terms of Service, any explicit or otherwise erotic roleplay is strictly banned within FiveM and RedM. As such, Crescent Valley maintains a strict ban on all erotic and otherwise explicit roleplay.

It is not permitted on the server and it never will be.

Public displays of affection (PDA) such as kissing, hugging, holding hands, and general shows of affection which are not sexually overt in nature etc. are permitted.

Rape, Self-Harm, Miscarriage, and Suicide Roleplay Are Prohibited

This should not have to be stated but any and all instances of this roleplay will be met with an immediate ban from the server without warning or discussion. We do not care if you OOCly consented to that scene, you’ll be banned anyway.

Character Creation Standards

All characters must follow the following standards within Crescent Valley Roleplay:

  • Characters are required to be over the age of 18.
  • Characters must possess realistic and period appropriate names.
  • Character names must be original and cannot be named after pop culture, video game characters, and/or other media. (Inspiration is acceptable, direct copies are not.)
  • Supernatural characters are only permitted via an approved application. If you would like to play one, please consult the application section within the Crescent Valley Discord.

No Metagaming

Metagaming under any circumstance is not permitted. This relates to using information that you learned Out Of Character whilst In-Character. This can be to gain an advantage, avoid consequences, or other actions. Regardless of intentional Metagaming or not, it is still not permitted under any circumstances.

Examples of Metagaming Includes But Is Not Limited To:

  • Seeing another player’s Discord roles, nickname, etc. to identify them as part of a specific group, creature, or alignment.
  • Witnessing conversations within voice or text channels detailing specific roleplay circumstances to know where players are located, what they are doing, and/or intentions.
  • Using the Discord Server player list to determine if someone is online within the server or not.
  • Using a 3rd Party Voice Chat to relay information of any kind.
  • Watching a Twitch, Discord, or YouTube stream whilst playing on the server. Stream Sniping is strictly prohibited within Crescent Valley.

No Powergaming or Godmodding

Powergaming can span several parts of roleplay and falls into two categories. Powergaming & Godmodding. A powergamer is someone who roleplays something unbalanced, unrealistic, and/or impossible to win a scenario, forces another action onto another character without permitting someone else to react, and/or making up specific scenarios (scripted roleplay) to benefit one’s own character without truly experiencing the consequences of a specific action.

Examples of Powergaming Includes But Is Not Limited To:

  • Forcing another character to do one’s bidding without allowing them to act, essentially playing someone else’s character for them rather than permitting them to make a choice for themselves..
  • Transferring money, horses, weapons, and/or items from one character to an alternate character. (Hiveminding Resources)
  • Alerting Law Enforcement while in an active scenario is considered Powergaming & Abuse of “/alert” Mechanics. Once the scene has concluded, Law Enforcement may be contacted.
  • Using knowledge of Crescent Valley’s Rules & TOS to purposefully evade specific scenarios, consequences, and/or manipulate a roleplay scene which is otherwise within the rules of the server. (This applies to cases of ‘Revenge Reporting’ where you report a rule violation after the encounter is no longer favoring your character or group.)
  • Using “/me” to perform actions which otherwise make no sense such as ‘/me takes their weapon’ from the other side of the room, out of arm’s reach of the person being disarmed.
  • Utilizing Dr. Redo to drastically alter a character’s appearance to evade/win a specific encounter. Whilst Crescent Valley permits changes and drastic adjustments to a character over time with significant roleplay to back it, using the mechanic to alter a character on a whim to avoid a chase, search, or other scenario is strictly powergaming. Your character is REQUIRED to remain recognizable after any changes made.

Voice Identification Is Not Allowed

Identifying a character via their voice is not permitted. If you hear a character and meet them without a mask yet meet them later with a mask. You cannot identify them based on voice alone.

Going “They sound like (insert name here) but they were wearing a mask” is considered FailRP within Crescent Valley.

You CAN recognize an accent (i.e British, Russian, or Thick Southern) but who the accent belongs to remains unknown to you.

Masks and Disguises Conceal Identities

You may not know a character’s identity should they have a mask on. If they put effort to dress differently and behave differently then your character would not recognize them through the disguise.

That being said, if a character decides to be a moron and keep their every-day guns equipped on their back. It is fair to assume that the character underneath the mask is absolutely who wields those guns. The same applies to every day outfits that your character would reasonably recognize.

No Fail Roleplay

FailRP is defined as taking actions which are unrealistic and often are due to exploiting of game, script, or server mechanics outside of their intended design. This additionally applies to “Value of Life” in which a character reacts with no regard for their safety or regard for their life in hostile encounters.

  • Using animations, abilities, and/or commands to go behind barriers, break through doors, and/or enter otherwise inaccessible areas that cannot be accessed through legitimate means.
  • A character not valuing their life during an armed robbery or when they are outnumbered, outmatched, etc. within a hostile scenario.
  • Refusing to use /mask when hogtied, cuffed, detained, incapacitated, or otherwise downed whilst another player is unmasking one’s character.
  • Exploiting gameplay, script, or server mechanics to gain an advantage in a specific scenario.

Value of Life Is Mandatory

Value of Life is not a suggestion. It is a requirement. Your character, regardless of strength and power, should always treat confrontational roleplay as if they were going to die at its conclusion. Any remotely sane individual with common sense would not want to risk their life over a pocket watch when 6 armed individuals have their guns trained on them, demanding their valuables.

This additionally applies to Supernatural roleplay. All characters should reasonably be fearful of the Supernatural. ESPECIALLY HUMANS WHO ARE OTHERWISE UNAWARE OF ITS EXISTENCE.

The curious may be brave, the bold may be confident, but a 6 foot tall fucking werewolf showing its form will still scare any human shitless regardless of experience. You’re not special. This isn’t a Disney film.

No Random Death Match

Random Death Match is the attack, downing, and general hostile engagement of another player without proper roleplay initiation. This applies to melee & ranged attacks as well as vehicular RDM such as with a wagon, horse, or other means of transportation. (Trains are an exception to this rule as they have right of way on the tracks regardless of circumstance.)

NPCs also apply to the RDM rule as if they were any other player.

No External Mods, Third-Party Advantage Software, or Hacks

Crescent Valley does not permit or tolerate the use of Mod Menus, Third-Party Software which gains an advantage over other players, and unrealistic/obnoxious voice changers.

If you’re concerned about what may be counted as third-party software, please open up a ticket and ask the admin team any questions you may have.

Death & New Life Rules

Every character will get their shit rocked at least once during their time in Crescent Valley. As such, we have specific rules and expectations all players must follow when experiencing this specific roleplay.

Stage 1: Incapacitation

Accidental deaths are not considered ‘true deaths’ and are the most common instance of being downed in the server. These accidental ‘deaths’ occur when a character is injured to a point of being downed without a deliberate violent action from another NPC or player. A good example is accidentally being kicked by a horse and knocked unconscious or a wagon was driven off a cliff by mistake.

Stage 2: Saw the Light / New Life Rule

If your character is incapacitated or ‘downed’ by a deliberate, violent action and you respawn or ‘see the light’ in order to wake up in a medical office or alternate location, your character will immediately have ZERO memory of the previous 30 minutes of roleplay AND the events leading up to your respawn.

  • If your character is revived & treated via a medical professional or other individual then they are free to remember everything. This rule ONLY applies to respawns specifically.
  • This rule additionally applies to if your character’s body is dumped to otherwise inaccessible places such as a lake, a deep river, or a chasm with no escape.

Stage 3: Permanent Death

If you choose or are put into a scenario where your character would be permanently killed. You are agreeing to having your character be deleted and no longer playable within Crescent Valley. No one can truly force you to perma your own character UNLESS you are abiding by a character-death contract in which a character has approved grounds to eliminate yours.

To communicate that your character is fully killed off, type the following “/me This character is perma’d” in chat to alert the medical professional or surrounding parties that your character is officially dead.

  • Know that a pre-existing will must be submitted to the region’s Department of Justice to be considered viable and valid for use. Please open a ticket within 72 hours of the character’s demise in order to see items within the will to be sent off to their respective inheritors.
  • Unique items are given the default will practice however you forfeit the ability to make said unique items as the recipe died with that character.
  • IF you delete a character before a final will is properly executed, it will NOT be honored due to loss of database information. We will not rollback the server for you specifically so do NOT delete the character until the transfer of willed items is finalized and concluded.
  • If you login to the dead character after verifying they are dead. You are powergaming and will catch a ban.

There are specific exceptions to player liberty in personal deaths such as pre-arranged agreements between faction members regarding departure and/or betrayal of one of its members OR a supernatural character that is hunted through legitimate, applied for means.

Down and Out

If your character is downed for ANY reason within a hostile, violent, and/or criminal roleplay scene, you CANNOT re-engage with that specific scene after respawning or being revived by a doctor and/or other player.

Regardless of death-type, you cannot rejoin the active scenario even if revived.

If you are downed, you cannot instantly reinitiate with the people involved in the scene. You are required to wait a minimum of 1 hour prior to re-engaging and extracting any sort of revenge on those who wronged you.

  • This rule includes and is applied to environmental deaths such as starvation, dehydration, fall damage, horse kicks, and what can be considered an “Act of God” such as an unfortunately placed lightning strike caused by a thunderstorm.

All Player Permas Require a Ticket

If you are deciding to perma your character or are faced with a scenario of a possible forced character death. You are required to open up a ticket with the admin team to inform us of the death so we may walk you through the process OR to verify the kill scene is legitimate.

Humans Can Be Subject to Approved Forced Deaths

Crescent Valley possesses a unique system of applications for forced character deaths. If a character has enough reason and there is enough storyline validation to justify their death, a player may put in a kill application on a completely mundane character.

Much like Supernatural Character Deaths, all instances of these require approved applications prior to going ahead with the roleplay.

Combat & Conflict

Combat, PvP, and general conflict has specific rules pertaining to how it is meant to be engaged within Crescent Valley Roleplay.

Always Initiate Before Striking

Before acting in a hostile, violent, or generally aggressive manner, all players are REQUIRED to initiate through verbal queues, /me actions, or general emotes of aggression prior to starting the fight.

These actions are REQUIRED to be visible, obvious, and given with enough time for the party to react.

If a scene has a sniper, the character which is on the ground must verbalize to the other party that there is a sniper somewhere in the vicinity. That way the sniper, should they decide to fire on their opponents, is initiated into the conflict properly.

Initiation Timer and Cooldown

If you engage in hostile or violent roleplay and your victim flees successfully. You have 10 minutes to find them again without initiation. You are NOT required to initiate again during this 10 minute timer after their escape.

HOWEVER should you find them 15-20+ minutes after the escape timer has concluded. You are REQUIRED to re-initiate VERBALLY.

Handcuffs Must Be Applied Realistically

Players must be compliant and/or detained via rope or hogtie prior to being cuffed. You CANNOT cuff someone who is actively running away. Abuse of the instant cuffing mechanic is considered powergaming and it is incredibly unrealistic for a moving target to have cuffs slapped on them.

Instant-Kill and Instant-Hogtie Animations Are Restricted

In the interest of fairness to all parties, instant animations cannot be countered in any way and as such are banned from regular use within Crescent Valley Roleplay. This rule applies to the following cases:

  • Instant Melee Kills (This is a oneshot animation regardless of health pool.)
  • Instant Pistol Whip Kills (Holding melee whilst wielding a firearm will strike a player twice with that firearm and will instantly down them regardless of available health pool.)
  • Instant Gun Melee Executions (Striking a player with a gun to trigger the firearm execution.)
  • Knife executions.
  • Pressing ‘E’ for instant choke animations.
  • Tackling another player, initiating an instant chokehold which cannot be countered immediately.
  • Tackling another player, while wielding a melee or ranged weapon, to trigger the execution animation.

Instant Hogtie Animations have a specific clause when used, they can ONLY be used in the following scenarios:

  • A player has granted OOC permission to be tied up.
  • A character has surrendered and has their hands up. It must be clear that they are prepared to be detained accordingly.
  • Characters are simply playing around and messing about. However, this is your responsibility as a player to check if your roleplay partners or group is okay with this behavior.

Criminal Roleplay

All criminal roleplay is subject to specific rules when being conducted within Crescent Valley. Please note that by participating in criminal roleplay, you are aware that you will be entering a potentially conflict-heavy roleplay environment. If you cannot handle conflict in an OOC capacity, please consider a different roleplay path on this server.

Selling Drugs in Guarma Is Prohibited

This rule exists due to a gameplay mechanic regarding police alerts and how Guarma’s location places them on the normal map. For everyone’s sanity, we have simply banned the sale of drugs in Guarma.

If you are caught selling drugs in Guarma, you will be fined by the admin team for a total of $5,000. We have logs for this and WILL know if you sell in Guarma. Know that this fine will be taken out of your pocket and may include any physical assets which you do not have in cash. A formal warning will be applied to your account on top of this in-game fine.

If you do it again after this initial warning and fine, you will simply be banned from the in-game server for 14 days.

If you somehow did not learn after the first or second instance. You will be permanently banned from the server for exploiting mechanics and blatant disregard for server rules.

Do Not Kill a Compliant Character

You cannot instantly decide to down or kill another player character which is actively complying with your demands, requests, or instructions. This applies to before the scenario begins, during the scenario itself, and after the scenario concludes.

However, if they decide to fight back after the robbery action ends, your character can reasonably defend themselves as they realistically would. This applies to excessive mouthing off. If they want to talk shit, they are absolutely going to get hit.

Pocket-Wiping Is Prohibited

Robberies should always focus on the roleplay aspect and the context of the scene actively in front of you as well as your character’s motivations. Focus on taking items which are relevant such as weaponry, cash, or plot-relevant belongings rather than wiping a player’s entire inventory.

What you CAN take:

  • Items of roleplay significance such as a necklace, ring, or other personal item.
  • Money.
  • Weapons (Yes, you can take all of a person’s weapons.)
  • High-End or Valuable Crafting Ingredients And/Or Components (Gems, Precious Metals, Etc.)

What you CANNOT take:

  • Food or water.
  • Low-End Crafting Ingredients And/Or Components

Do Not Force Access to Banks, Storage, Society Menus, or Ledgers

You cannot force another player to access the following menus during a robbery in order to steal from said menus:

  • Bank Ledgers
  • Bank Vaults
  • House Storage
  • House Ledgers
  • Society Menus
  • Society Storages

You may only rob a person for what is on their spawned horse or wagon which was already out, and/or what they have on their person in a given robbery scenario.

Do Not Rob Players Who Are in Menus

You may not rob a player who is reasonably expected to be in a menu. This applies to store vendors, mailing stations, pinboards, market menus, business menus, crafting stations, etc.

Robbing another player who is in a menu, cannot speak, and/or defend themselves accordingly is unfair to all parties involved. It is considered powergaming as it does not yield roleplay and is a blatant abuse of mechanics to gain an advantage over someone else.

Criminal and Conflict Groups Are Limited to Four Versus Four

This rule will grow as the server grows but this rule defaults at a maximum of 4 for either side of a given conflict. This applies to any and all criminal roleplay regardless of violence levels AND all violent roleplay scenes.

Remain Logged In for 30 Minutes After Criminal or Violent Scenes

Disconnecting from the server to avoid in-character consequences, such as arrest, injury, or ongoing roleplay, is not permitted.

After a crime is committed or a significant scene ends, please remain connected for at least 30 minutes to allow proper closure, opportunity to be found by authorities or opposing characters, etc.

Do Not Commit Crimes Within 30 Minutes of a Restart

If you decide to commit a crime, regardless of its nature, 30 minutes to a restart. You are in violation of the 30 minute timer rule. If a restart is occurring in 30 minutes, you should wait AFTER the restart happens to commit your desired crimes.

This additionally applies to placing criminal or investigation /scenes around the region 30 minutes to a restart. This rule is to prevent /scene desyncs which causes them to not save on the server and thus not appear after a restart.

High-Government Corruption, Mafia-Style Roleplay, Serial-Killers, And High-Impact Arcs Require Dedication & Commitment To Consequences Regardless of Outcome.

Crescent Valley encourages long-term, slow burn storytelling of high-impact storylines and character arcs as long as they remain realistic, immersive, and respectful of our server rules.

These specific arcs thrive when played smart, collaborative, and are valuable to the server in terms of engagement.

All High-Impact Arcs should be approached with common sense, rational thinking, and care. Think about the enjoyment of all rather than who wins, who loses, etc. Feel free to consult the staff team for advice on how to effectively portray these arcs.

Government Corruption

  • Under specific circumstances, low-ranking government officials may put in an application for corruption under specific circumstances. However these must feel authentic and grounded in reality for the character. If caught, expect realistic consequences from the people who found you out such as investigations, position terminations, or even jail-time. Use good judgement to avoid unnecessary disruption.
  • High Ranking Government Officials such as Federal Law Enforcement, Justices, & Attorney Generals, etc. are NOT permitted to be corrupted for sake of server health.
  • Corruption Arc Applications & Rules ALSO apply to Supernatural Roleplay.

Serial Killers

  • These characters are permitted provided they are serious and have dedicated quality to their storylines. If the staff decide to deem a serial killer character as low-quality or low-effort roleplay, the staff team will not permit the storyline to continue until specific corrections are made.
  • Every Serial Killer, regardless of being mundane or supernatural, is required to have a ticket open so they may include necessary details on their murders, crime scenes, and other information for investigation roleplay.

Gang or Organization Hideouts Require Evidence

You are required to have video footage and evidence of someone entering/exiting OR you were told of the location. If your character cannot reasonably think a location is a hideout, has no evidence of it being the case, and behaves as if it is, you are considered to be metagaming.

The exception to this rule is if you recognize various symbols or colors affiliated with a specific gang. If your character has evidence supporting their suspicion then they may reasonably recognize that to be the case.

Green Zones

Crescent Valley has a few areas which are considered “Green Zones”. These Green Zones are locations in which criminal or violent roleplay cannot be initiated or started. These locations are Doctors Offices and Surgery Rooms.

Additionally, Police Stations & Law Enforcement Department Offices BECOME Green Zones when a criminal is being booked AND the front door to the office is LOCKED.

No Green-Zone Rulebreak Baiting

We all know how tempting it is to ragebait someone into doing an action they’d otherwise regret, however antagonizing someone into committing this action within a Green Zone so they’d automatically be in violation of server rules is not permitted. This goes for provoking violence, theft, and any other crime or violent roleplay.

If this happens, the individual baiting the incident is the one immediately in the wrong.

No New Crimes or Violence Within a Green Zone

The title speaks for itself. You cannot commit a crime or violent action within a Green Zone.

HOWEVER if a crime or violent scenario was started outside of the Green Zone and happens to be moved into an area which is a Green Zone. The scene is still active regardless of Green Zone status. The police or criminal may still pursue you into a medical office if they have reason to do so.

Medical Roleplay

Crescent Valley has a player-run and established medical department. As such there are rules involved in how medical roleplay is expected to be conducted within Crescent Valley.

Do Not Ignore Medical Roleplay

Doctors and medical professionals have to drop everything they’re doing to respond to your downed state through /alertdoctor. They are NOT revive-bots. If you alert a doctor, you are expected and required to engage with medical roleplay YOU initiated.

Additionally, if you /alertdoctor and a doctor mentions in the global doctor chat that they’re enroute, if you respawn when they arrive OR prior to their arrival, you will be warned by an admin for wasting that doctor’s time.

Do Not Respawn During an Active Scene

If you are downed in combat, do not use the respawn button to teleport out of that scene UNLESS you have permission to do so (such as a doctor ran out of smelling salts or revive-kits and cannot actively revive you there even after they treated you).

That is considered powergaming and FailRP due to abuse of the respawn mechanic.

Players Choose Their Character's Injuries

You, as a player, reserve the right to pick your character’s own injuries and what damage they sustain. While we encourage heavily that you roleplay out your injuries, we understand that not everyone prefers recovery roleplay.

All we ask and prefer is that in the event you present yourself as injured to doctors in any capacity with life-threatening injuries, you are willing to roleplay out the recovery of the roleplay you initiated.

Remember to keep all your injuries realistic and portray it as such. If you got shot, you determine where you got shot. If you have a broken bone, you determine the severity of that bone. It is important to remember that if you roleplay these injuries, you are signing up for the consequences. This especially applies to cases like compound fractures or severe head trauma.

Do Not Bait Doctors with False Alerts

Baiting a doctor to come to your location with no actual medical reason and with the intention to only to rob, attack, or down them is strictly against the rules. They are required to respond to alerts while they are on-duty as a doctor and as such have no way to know that you are going to ambush them.

Only alert them for legitimate medical calls HOWEVER once the medical roleplay has concluded, the doctor that responded is able to be then initiated into a violent or criminal roleplay scene.

Business Rules

Crescent Valley has limitations on business amounts, placements, and other roleplay specific features to ensure we have space for everyone.

One Society Business per Player

Society Businesses are businesses which utilize a fixed location, have a hiring menu for employees, and come with unique recipes. Examples of these business types are but are not limited to:

  • Saloon
  • General Store
  • Gunsmith
  • Blacksmith
  • Stable

Society Businesses Belong in Towns and Cities

Society Businesses are designed to engage with other players and be open to the public. Because of this, Crescent Valley developers will not place custom society businesses on privately owned properties. The exception to this rule is if certain locations such as MacFarlanes Ranch and Emerald Ranch support locations for specific businesses.

While certain properties may have access to certain menus like a stable to change out a horse or blacksmith crafting area. They are not available to be used as businesses.

If you desire to run a society business, you may pick a town or city to open said business in.

Ranches Are Not Custom-Made

Ranches are not made custom and are limited on the server in order to stimulate the economy and promote player interaction. As such, homes cannot be “made” into a ranch. They are either sold as a ranch or are ineligible to become one.

Each region will have its own sale point near or around its region capitol.

The following ranches exist on the server:

Lemoyne - Saint Denis Sell Point

  • Calliga Hall
  • Braithwaite Manor
  • Mattock Pond

New Hanover - Valentine Sell Point

  • Bluewater Ranch
  • Emerald Ranch
  • Carmody Dell
  • Downes Ranch

West Elizabeth - Blackwater & Strawberry Sell Points

  • Hanging Dog Ranch
  • Pronghorn Ranch
  • Painted Sky Ranch
  • Beecher's Hope

New Austin - Armadillo Sell Point

  • MacFarlane's Ranch
  • Ridgewood Farm

Business Owners Must Remain Active

If a business shows no activity from the owner in 2 weeks, they are liable to be shut down and made available to the next person who wishes to move in.

If you intend or suddenly have to take a break then please communicate with the staff team accordingly and we will try to work out an agreement so you are not punished for being unable to login.

Saloon Requirements

  • Saloons have an activity requirement of a public event being advertised and hosted once every two weeks. They are event spaces, not money farms.

Stable Requirements

  • Stables cannot hire more than 5 employees at a given time.
  • Stables require roleplay and long-term investment to have a specialty breed.
  • Stables must participate in a public horse auction at least once every 2 months.

Faction Rules

Crescent Valley has limitations on faction membership, character separation, etc to ensure everyone can spread out across the server and enjoy themselves.

One Character per Faction

You can only have one character in a specific faction. For instance, you cannot play a Department of Justice District Attorney while also playing a member of Law Enforcement. They are part of the same “Faction” due to working so closely to one another to uphold the region’s laws.

However, you can join the Medical Department and participate freely without overlap since they are NOT in the same faction.

Alternate Characters May Not Share Membership or Resources

Camps, businesses, & other character membership based features apply to the same logic of faction separation. Courtesy of such, Hiveminding information, resources, etc between your characters is strictly against the rules.

It does not matter how often the character is played, it is still not permitted.
